100 Days of Code Day 95 - Po files editing

03 Dec 2018

Convert English and Czech language catalogs

Using the json2po convertor from Translate Toolkit, and IDEA’s multiple cursor feature, I worked on the two remaining catalogs, as I already took care of Dutch and German previously.

Sorting

The ngx-translate extractor that I used previously, but provided incomplete results, had an option to provide a sorted list of keys as output. The json2po convertor doesn’t have such sorting. The goal is to have the .pot catalog and all of the po files sorted in the same way.

Learned about the msgcat utility, part of gettext, that has a sorting option.

Was able to align all of the existing catalogs at the moment.

Day 96 Plan

Investigate why some message keys were missing from the automated extraction.
